We get this question a lot: where do your cars actually come from, and why does it take 6 to 10 weeks? Here's the real timeline and why every week of it matters.
The supply chain
Our primary sourcing partner is Geely Auto Export in Hangzhou, China. We've built a direct relationship — no middle broker. This matters because it means we see the full service history and the car's origin, and we price off the landed cost without a markup layer.
The 6-10 week breakdown
- Week 0-1: Vehicle identified, inspected at origin, photographed, VIN history pulled. You approve.
- Week 1-2: Purchase confirmed, vehicle prepped for export. Battery health cert issued for EV/PHEV.
- Week 2-5: Ocean shipping (Shanghai → Tema). Typical lane is 18-22 days.
- Week 5-6: Tema Port arrival, unloading, customs declaration, duty payment. Usually 3-5 business days.
- Week 6-7: DVLA registration. Plates issued. Takes about 5-10 business days depending on DVLA backlog.
- Week 7-8: Second inspection in Accra. Any transit damage rectified. GPS tracker installed.
- Week 8-10: Contract signing, deposit clearance, delivery scheduling, handover.
Why not faster?
Anyone promising you a car in 4 weeks is either (a) selling you a car that's already been sitting on their lot for months, (b) cutting corners on the inspection, or (c) skipping the VIN history check. We don't do any of those things.

Why not slower?
Most car imports to Ghana take 3-4 months because of disorganized logistics — cars sitting at warehouses waiting for consolidation, customs delays from incomplete paperwork, DVLA backlogs from missing documents. We control every step, so we can stick to 6-8 weeks consistently.
